The whole point of a parish plan is to give people a voice about issues that affect them where they live; it is a formalised way of informing Parish, District, County Councils and other bodies about what the Parish of Dorrington needs. With this aim in mind our approach has been quite straightforward; we have asked the people of Dorrington about what they want to improve life in the parish.

The parish planning process is designed to:

  • Seek the views of residents with regard to the future of the village that they live in
  • encourage social cohesion by bringing forward activities or projects that will benefit the community and improve the quality of life; provide a targeted planned approach to village development projects and to seek further funding (supported by evidence).
