July 2026 Emergency Minutes
MINUTES OF THE DORRINGTON PARISH COUNCIL EMERGENCY MEETING
Monday 30 July 2026
Present; Cllr Gray (Chair) (TG), Hayes (JH), and Darby (PD)
In Attendance: Gerald Garton, Clerk and Proper Office
Public Forum: No public in attendance
1 Chairperson’s welcome: 047/26: The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.
2 Apologies and reasons for absence: 048/26: Cllr Bell and Unwin.
3 Declarations of interest in agenda items: 049/26: None
4. Computer replacement: 050/26: The parish laptop has become non-operational. Ink and Toner have investigated, and the mother board is not longer functioning and a replacement part would be hard and expensive to replace.
Therefore, there is a need to purchase a replacement as soon as possible and arrange for recovery of existing data.
After consideration it was decided to purchase a reconditioned Dell Latitude laptop from PureIT for £413.00 and TG offered to support the clerk in transferring data and setting up printer.
Post meeting note: Despite PuerIT sales pitch of orders despatched within 2 days, when a purchase was attempted, we were told they were presently to busy to take order. In order to facilitate a rapid resolution, it was decided to buy one from Ink and Toner instead and, since they had the old laptop, to engage them in all set up and date recovery
5. Resignation of councillor: 051/26: - Cllr Newton has tended his resignation to the clerk instead of to the chairman as advised. The meeting accepted his resignation and the clerk will inform NKDC Electoral Services so they can put into place legal requirements.
6 Bank Signature Replacement: 052/26: With the resignation of Cllr Newton we only have two signatories. In the clerk’s opinion three would be advantageous. It was d ecided to put this on the next agenda to enable other councillors to consider.
There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 19.50.
